M ELT.INGTON, December 20 The Secretary of the Post amd Tele graph Department received a. message yesterday afternoon from the Postmaster at Tarawera reporting an accident to the mail car on the Napier— Taupo service. When three miles south of Tarawera the steering gear collapsed and the car was precipitated into a creek. There were three passengers in the car, and the driver and one passenger, an elderly lady, are reported to he seriously injured. The itawke's Bay Motor Company is sending a relief car with a doctor to the scene of the accident. ,
