AN OVERCROWDED THEATRE. The city’s ;ippreciation of the Sisline Choir Soloists reacted unfavourably on the management of the Liberty Theatre, when John Robertson, the manager, was proceeded against by i the City inspector for having, oil Oc- ! tober 30. filled tlie passages of the i theatre with |>eople. ! Leslie Hardie said that there were ! 103 people more than the licensed number in the theatre on the night oP October 30. The defendant said that a mistake had hern in the sale of tickets. There, was an enormous crowd, including a number of music pupils and they got into the theatre. Once they were in, it was impossible to turn them out. The Magistrate: I don’t suppose this will happen again?- Xo. The defendant was fined 10s and ! costs.
