(Special to the h* St-ar.”) “UNWORTHY OF NOTICE.” WELLINGTON, October 10. “ I have seen the document referred to and I can only say that in my opinion it is unworthy of notice and beneath contempt,” was the emphatic answer given by tbe Prime Minister in the House when an election pamphlet was mentioned by Mr Rhodes (Thames). Mr Rhodes had asked whether Prime Minister had seen a pamphlet issued by the Rev Air Stnale. a retired Anglican clergyman and the organising secretary for Air Hall Skelton one of the Auckland candidates, in which it was stated that the Reform Government’s land swindles had totalled £350,000,0.00. Air Rhodes also asked for the JPrime Aiinister’6 views on itand he certainly got them. TH E COST OF CURIOSITY. Hoping perhaps that he would indicate to fellow- members the direction in which economies could be effected, Air L. AI. Isitt recently asked for a return showing the cost of returns supplied to the order of the House of Representatives last session. The return of returns appeared to-day and gave the following information. Cost of preparation £3Bl 17s bd. Cost of printing £53 7s 6d. TotaT cost £485 os. The cost of satisfying Mr Jsitt’s curiosity has not yet been stated.
