THE ASSOCIATION GAME. A meeting of th© Management Committee of the Canterbury Football Association was held on Monday: present---Messrs It. B. Brunt (in tho chair), English, Eastgate, Ramsay, Feld. Bentley, Knights. Hoy. Wilson, Thomas, Smith, Trustum. Veitcli. Reid and the secretary. The Canterbury Rugby Union asked the association to appoint delegates to a meeting in connection with the attitude of the C.A.A.P.S.A. in debarring all but State Schools from taking part in primary school pports. It was decided to send three delegates to the meeting and Messrs English, Bentley and Knights were appointed. The Rangers Club, in reply to a. letter from the association requesting their presence at- the next meeting of the council. wrote that they would not appear before the Management Committee to explain their letter of September 27. Mr East-gate moved that tho letters from the - Rangers Club lie on t.he table, on account of the insolence included in the letter of September 27. This lapsed for want of a seconder. Mr Read moved that the Hangers Club be suspended for the insolent leter sent, to the association, and also for the manner in which they treated the association’s suggestion to appear before the Management Committee to explain their letter of September 27, till such time as the club should appeal’ to explain their conduct. This was seconded by Mr East-gate and unanimously carried. Accounts amounting to £47 10s were paseed for payment. The manager and captain of the Canterbury team that recently toured the West Coast read reports in connection with the tour. The manager and captain were thanked for their report©. It was moved by Mr Wilson and seconded by Mr Thomas that letters of appreciation be sent to the West Coast. Association and Mr Oscar Eggen, proprietor or the Royal Hotel, Greyinouth, expressing pleasure at the excellent time which thev gave the Canterbury representative team on the West Coast. Mr Wilson, on behalf of the Canterbury representative team that recently toured the Coast., presented the chairman, president and selector with photographs of th© team. Messrs Bunt-, Ramsay and English returned thanks. * n
