L INWOOD CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Linwood Lawn Tennis Club was held la ft evening, Mv F. W. Dunnage presiding over an attendance of thirty-five members. Office-bearers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr E. 4. Taylor; president,* Mr K \V. Dunnage; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Anderson, "11. P. Muter and \V. (loss; honorary secretary, Mr It. x M’Callum; honor-' ary treasurer, Mr G. Gibson; auditor. Mr E J. Tayler;; management committee, Messrs L. G. Burn, A. L. Wood, J. May no, .. C. Hall, E. K. Mahan; G. W. Ward and A. K. Duthip; delegates to Canterbury Association, Messrs M'Callum, Gibson and Burn. The election-of the ladies’ captain was held over till opening day. Opening day was fixed ior Saturday, October 7. and it was decided to hold a dance in the evening. Mr Mahan moved—“ That the word * male ’ be inserted between the words seven’ and ‘members' appearing n Rule 8 of the club’s regulations, and that tfoo rule now read, ‘ The club shall be sevcrwnale * members in addition to ttys ' Pr The ' . The incoming committee was given power to purchase land for the extension of the club’s courts. The meeting concluded with votes of thanks to the retiring office-bearers, particularly Messrs Wood and Burn. AN EXHIBITION GAME. (Pan Prkss Association.) AUCKLAND. September 23. The Australian Davis Cup team has accepted an invitation to give an exhibition playing ’ two sets of singles and doubles match on October 14.
