A wreck on the Michigan central railroad, which the officials declare to have been due to a withdrawal of spikes, permitting the rails to spread, resulted in the death of two men, serious injury to two others, and the demolition of a baggage train. A reward of 1000 dollars has been offered for the capture of the wreckers. The unions’ demand for the reemployment of strikers and a. refusal if submit the seniority question to the Railway Labour Board threaten to block the settlement ot the railway strike. Increasing disorders in the middle west and south also menace the peace movement On on© infportant railway, linking Newbaven and Hertford, an agreement has been signed with employees decreasing the wage reductions which the Railway Labour Board bad ordered.
