INVITATION TO LADY CHAMPIONS. A cabled invitation from the Hawaiian Association of the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States was this morning received by the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association for Pauline Hoeft. of Auckland, and Gwitha Shand. of Christchurch. to visit Honolulu to *wim during October. It is proposed that the girl* shall leave Auckland by the Makura on September 26. leaving Honolulu again on October *2B. arriving back in New Zealand on November 10. Pauline Hoeft ks New Zealand champion and record bolder for 100 yards and Gwitha Shand is and record holder for 440 yards. It is probable that should the invitation be accepted. the events contested in Honolulu will d-ccide the world s championship.
