At a special meeting of the Taieri Returned Soldiers’ Association much indignation was expressed against the action of the Mosgiel Borough Conned regarding the dismissal from its employ of a. member of the association after a service with the borough if three and a half years. Such treatment was strongly resented by all in view of the fact that .although the man’s services were being dispensed with, the council had quite recently seen fit. to engage two men, neither of whom had seen active service, and who were still being retained on the staff. V.Tiut made the action of the council even more strange in dismissing the man was that fact that lie had been given an excellent testimonial by the council.
