An accident occurred in Cathedral Square this afternoon. A motor-car, driven by Mr V. M. Bee*oe, came into the Square on the north side, and turned tov/ards the Crystal Palace Theatre. Two women were walking across the Square at this point, and at the same time a push cyclist rode between the pedestrians and the motorcar. Mr Beebe tried to avoid the cyclist, and swerved. One of the women jumped in front of the car and was knocked down, and to avoid the second the motorist had to run his car over the side-channel on to the footpath. The car crashed into the show-case of the shop occupied by Mr B. O. Priddis, .jeweller. The brick work was smashed considerably, and the fronr portion of the car was damaged.
