CANTERBURY ASSOC! ATSON NINTH ROUND. The ninth round of matches was played to-day. TEGHM SCAL V. SELWYN, The m a tell between -Selwyn and Technical was played at. Lancaster Park. Selwyn opened the frame with a series of .attacks, and two good shots by Squire were fielded and saved by Smith. Selwyn made repeated onslaughts on the Technical goal. but. good defence by Morris a.nd Smith kept, the goal clear. Technical made a brief rally, but were sent back by Kore. who sent a pass up to Squire. The latter took the ball well down and centred neatly to IT. Bell, who netted with a lightning shot. Selwyn 1, Technical o. Selwyn came again and a neat combined rush ended in W. Bell scoring easily. Selwyn 2. Technical 0 Pearce and Edgiugton were prominent in n- Technical rally, which was stopped by Grose. W. Richmond and S. Bell put in a good run which enabled the latter to score a third goal for Selwyn. Selwyn 8. Technical 0. Technical rallied and Steerp sent in a. shot, hut gave “ sticks.” the free hit giving relief to Selwyn. Hard hitting by Skelton and Gay confined play to Y.M.C.A.’s twenty-five for sonic time. A shot from Mather resulted in a corner. Y.M.C.A.’s vanguard transferred play to the other end, where Snooks saved at the expense of a corner. A ecramble ensued in Sydenham’s circle. and Hill finally pushed the ball into the net.
