Burglars wore active in tho city dur j ing til© week-end, and as a result, two ' cases of breaking .and entering and j theft were reported to tho police to--1 -day \ Thieves gained entry to the storeroom of the King George Hotel through a grille and stole a. quantity of liquor. | Tho amount lias not yet been ascart.ian©d, but it is beloved to be small. Tho burglary probably took place last evenlig. Early this morning, someone gained admittance through a fanlight to the Industrial Co-operative Society’s grocery store in Colombo Street and stole a quantity of goods and a, small sum , of money. Th|e po-liata be/kq-e thei ! burglar reached the roof and gained access to the fanlight. Detectives aro making enquiries in both cages. .
