NEW BRIGHTON JAZZ CLUB.

The first invitation night for this season in connection with the New Brighton Jazz Club took place in Joyland Theatre on AVednesday. Considerable alterations and additions have been made to the building. Although the decorative work could not completed in time for the dance, and workmen were in the building right up to the opening of the function, this made no difference to th© enjoyment of those participating. Amongst those present were:— Alesdames Kibble white, Drake, Edmonds, Vauglian, Rose, Knight, Vergette. Hammond, Robinson, Bishop, Peoples, Leighton, Clark, Blunt. Low, Cana van, Bosom worth, Barnett, Hoppolthwaite. Shaw, Young, Hawker, Atuirson, Cooke. Anderson, Purse, Bowron, Whatman, Lucas, Pagg. Cowper and White. Misses A r . Dennis, P. Edmonds. P. Wilding. Aforris. AI. Lawrence. Lindsay, Seaton, ithell, Hopkins, Wyatt. AI. Vaughan, Al’Cree Stevens, Wacked. Wrnthnll and Lawrence (3), Alessrs F. R. Wanchop. Dr Glasgow. Captain Buckley. IT. S J. Goodman, Gunn, Afoyle, A. AVithell, Hopkins, L. Parsons, Stevens. G W. Bishop, Spanjer. Campbell and Stewart. The president of the club (Air F. Kibblewliite) welcomed Christchurch visitors and extended an invitation for the further invitation nights. Willvams’s Jazz Band played tho music. A ear at 2 am. conveyed Christchurch visitors to the city.
