WANGANUI TRAINING NOTES.
(Special to the ** Star.’*) WANGANUI, May 13A large number of horses arrived yesterday, including Omahu, Ngata, Bonnet ter, Demos, Oak Hose, Paonui and Kyoto. This morning Kyoto and Noble were sent round over the Hurdles, both jumping well. The former looks very fit. Demos and Whanoko ran 7 furlongs, the latter pleasing most. The distance was run comfortably in 1.31£. Omahu and Ngata were companions in a mile over hurdles, both jumping well, particularly Omahu, who is at the top of his form. Oak Pose was put over the Hencoop and Brush, stumbling over the latter obstacle and dislodging his rider. He was remounted and then jumped the brush all right. Hyttus and Vagabond ran a mile together in 1.47£, the former being in front at the end. Paonui was schooled over hurdles by himself, going comfortably and jumping well. Sir Solo put in a couple, of rounds, the last circuit at solid pace. Gladful was worked on the plough. The racing at Hawera appears to have frshened up this pair. A large numbr of others did useful work.
