GONDUGTED BY PIONEER SPORTS cLUB. The Pioneer Sports Club held a, petrol consumption test for side—oar machines todar. The competitors started at 1‘45 pm. from Av S. Paterson's store, at the corner of Felwyu Street and Ha.zeldean Road. An ohsPrvs-r amompanied earh rider. and a certain amount of petrn'l was given to each competitor. according to the weight and (‘ubin capacity nf’ his outfit; the rider covcring the greatest distance being declared the winner. ,A speed of not. less than fifieen miles p'ex- hour had to be mainluinml throughout, the journey.
