VIOLENT SOUTHERLY. Tho blustering nor’-wester that blew for the greater part of to-day was succeeded about 4.30 by a more violent sou’-wester, which was accompanied by heavy showers. A magnificent rainbow appeared just before the northerly gave way to the southerly gale. Tho gathering clouds over the Port Hills were a striking feature of the storm just before it broke over the city.
