Frostick. speaking in j Kaiapoi on Friday at. a gathering in I honour of Miss Stevenson, industrial j secretary for the Australasian Y.W.C.A., referred to the great need tor raising the conception of the value of all usefu] work. He said that it was a matter of importance for every individual in a. community to respect J his own and other people's work as essential to the welfare of the community. Aliss Stevenson, who is the Y.AV.C.A. specialist in leisure-time occupations for girls in industry, will see the working nf the big woollen mills while she is in Kaiapoi. and will he entertained by the girls of the hostel, the accommodation of which is now taxed to the utmost. Afias Stevenson was on Friday the guest of honour at an *' At Home ” given by the ladies of the Kaiapoi Y.W.C.A. Committee. She spoke on the growth of community conaciousnepa. On Friday evening a welcome, which took the form of a banquet, was tendered to the junior students of “ Aberdare House” by the senior students. The students’ sitting-room was artistically decorated for the occasion with geraniums and autumn leaves. Among the toasts honoured were: “ Our Matron, ’* “ Our Guests.” ” House Et--Btudents ” and “The House. Items were contributed by Aliases "Butteriok, Pa nett, Howes, Gibson. Hayes.
