Sastrc, speaking before the unofficial National Council on the reduction of armaments, said: “ India desires the status attained within the British 10m pi re of Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We hope and trust that the new spirit in the world* which is receiving sanctification at this conference, will mean that, our progress towards that status will be marked by peaceful, constitutional means.” He concluded by proclaiming the greatness of Ohandi, hut asserted that the latter was without political sense Therefore he was leading the people of India along a false road of opposition to the Government of the British Kmpire.
