SUMMER WALKS.

SHADY AVENUES. The citizens of Christchurch owe n great debt to the founders of the city, who, looking ahead to the needs of new generations, planted the trees of our avenues. Rolleston Avenue has now a beautiful overhanging arch of trees, which forms a delightfully cool and shady walk. Tn the long evenings the paths which follow' the river, as it winds through the city, are popular with promenaders.
