AMENDED ARBITRATION.

ANOTHER PROTEST. As the result of a meeting of the Canterbury General Labourers’ Union held last evening it was decided to send the following telegram to the Prime Minister : “ The Canterbury General Labourers* Union moat emphatically protests against the proposals embodied in the amendments to the Arbitration Act now before the House, and is of the opinion that it is an insidious method of breaking agreements and betraying those who have trusted in the Arbitration system.” (
