The City Electrical Department was highly praised by Mr H. Holland at last night’s meeting of the Canterbury industrial Association. He said it had don© marvellous work during th© past year, and th© city was fortunate iu having such an able officer as Mr E. Hitchcock in charge. There had been a saving of half a million units on the lines and an increase in output of a million units. He was afraid Christchurch people did not appreciate as they should the benefits conferred upon them by electricity.
