Replying to Mr Horatio Bottomley’s letter, tho Lord Chancellor states that ho has no jurisdiction to administer the suggested reprimand to Sir Henry Biron, even if the circumstances .justified it, a point upon which be would not express an opinion. Ibe Question of prosecuting Air Bottomley for perjury was one that appertained to tho Director of Public Prosecutions, under the direction of the Attorney-General, tj whom Mr Bottomley’s letter has been forwarded. Mr Bottomley had written to the Lord Chancellor protesting against Sir Henry Biron. a Bow Street magistrate. declaring that he could not believe Bottondev on oath in the case against Ruben Bigland. Mr Bottomlev asked that the statement should be publicly withdrawn, or that the Public Prosecutor should nroceed against him for perjuiy, giving him an opportunity ot vindicating his character.
