STEAMER PERTH ASHORE.

MISHAP TO PERTH. (Per Pres* Association.) GREYMOUTH, November 14. Th-e steamer Perth remains pivoted in the same position as on Sunday, opposite the north tiphead. No hope of saving her is now entertained. It is feared that the next westerly winds will cause her back to break, and a portion may slide into the channel. The £12,0K1 timber cargo may be half salved. Some fittings already are breaking- The water in the hold is four feet below the deck-line. The hull has a list landwards, but swings on the centre when the tide is in. The crew have lost their belongings, but it js hoped to save the wireless to-mor-row.
