The fortnightly meeting of the Washington Lodge 1.0.0. F. was held on Monday evening, N.O. Bro. C. J. Forbes presiding. It was decided that a letter of condolence be sent to Mr and Mrs Stevenson in the loss of their son. tho late Bro. Stevenson. Eight candidates were proposed for membership. Six candidates were initiated into the Order and a hearty vote of thanks, was accorded to Aliss Af.oo.re for her .services as pianist. The 16th (Pack) Battery N.Z.A., Lyttelton, under Lieutenant R. I>. Ties, was inspected by Colonel G. A. Cooper. C.8.K.. T.D., on Monday evening, the parade state being 85 of all ranks. Colonel Cooper was accompanied by Majors Oakes, A'.IX. and Veale. Lieutenants Pfige, Bradley, Oakes and Anderson. After the inspection, Colonel ( ooper presented the Pairman (hip to Sergeant Kennedy, the n.c-n. in charge of the best detachment for the year 1920-1921, and medals for miniature rifle shooting t«> First Sergeant-Atajor P. .gram. Second Sergeant' Kennedy and Third Gunner Hamblin, for the best season s aggregate.
