+ FAMOUS ENGLISH LAWYER. By Telegra-p h —Prens Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (’Received September 29, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, September 28. The death has occurred of Mr John Hutton Balfour Browne, King’s Counsel in 1885. who was reputed to have earned £40.000 a year at the Parliamentary Bar. The late Mr Browne was born in 1845. and married Caroline daughter of Lord Justice Lush, in 1874. Ho was educated at the Edinburgh TJnivicrflity, was called to the Bar in 1870, rind was a bencher of the Middle Temple in 1890. Deceased also contested two parliamentary seats, Dumfriesshire in 1906 and East Bradford in 1910.
