BALL AT WEST MELTON.
The spinsters and bachelors of West Melton held a very* successful hall on Friday. The schoolroom was beautifully decorated with flowering shrubs and red and gold streamers. In a largo marquee decorated with shrubs supper was served on tables artistically arranged with spring flowers. Tho duties of Al.C.’s were carried out by Misses F. Milne and H. Tavlor and Messrs Jowers and Taylor. Tho grand march was led by Alias Q. Shelley and Air C. Sloane. Alusic was supplied by S. Withers’s orchestra, extras being played by Airs Hayea, Air Hill and Alisses J. Thompson and J. Carter. Milne, champagne satin overdress of gold lace, finished with nattier bine; Langdale Hunt, black crepo do chine, witli gold spangle trimmings ; Q. Shelley, black crepe de chine with georgette overdress, finished with silver spangles; L. Holmes (R.iccarton). champagne satin and georgette; Wain, blue silk with net overdress; G.
