Vf an chop and the Mayor (Dr Thacker). It was decided to give the C.A.AC. j permission (o hold a half-day sports j meeting at Lancaster Park on October i In reference to the club’s application for reduced charges, it was decided not j to charge less than tbo usual nerccntI age, but if the gat-o did not leave a ; margin over expenses, a rebate would j be made. j St Patrick’s Sports Association had I made an application for the ground on j March 17 and IS, 1922, but this had i not been granted owing to the expected j tour of au English cricket team This tour having now lapsed, it was decided to grant the association use of the Park on those dates. Tho plans for the memorial gate at tho park were laid before the board, but it was decided to hold over consideration for twelve months’ Air Wilson said (hat what credit balance they had could bo better utilised iu making additional provision for accommodation. Tho limit was now from 12,000 to 14,000 spectators, and it was impossible for them to get a big teEt match unless they could accommodate at least 20,000. There was a French team coming to play football in New' Zealand next season, and he considered that tho money could be Arell expended in improving the park . along those lines. Air Keeteven said that the embankment could be widened twenty feet, and then the people Avho would not pay , the big prices could be better catered for. These matters were left over until the report of the Improvements Subcommittee Avas received.
