—4 SUPPLIES FOR/ GAS COMPANIES. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 7. The Commonwealtli Government, at the request of the Government of New Zealand ho-*.agreed to release 5000 tom rnothly of Maitland small coal for gasworks. This is in addition to the coal now obtained by the New Zealand Government froiw New South Wales and used for the railways. Hitherto the gas companies have been unable tc make similar definite arrangements.
