SISTER LIGOURI CASE.
MEDICAL EVIDENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. Australian and x*-Z. Cable Association. SYDNEY, July 5. The case in which ex-Sister Ligouri claims damages from Dr Dwyer, Roman Catholic Bishop of Wagga, for alleged malicious arrest, was continued. The day was mostly occupied with examination of witnesses in regard to plaintiff’s sanity.. Dr Binns said that after a thorough examination of Sister Ligouri when she arrived in Sydney, she impressed him as being a rather reserved, unsophisticated, mentally normal person- He expressed the opinion that her story of attempted murder in the convent was a very exaggerated deduction for her to make, but it did not indicate insanity. The Government Medical Officer, Dr Gibbs, also gave evidence that after having Sister Ligouri under observation for five days in the reception house he saw no trace of insanity.
