The funeral of tho late Mrs Mary Oakley, who met with her death at Church Bay on Sunday in a motorcar accident, took place at Lyttelton yesterday morning. The Rev N O. White, Presbyterian Minister, Riccnrton, conducted the burial service at tho graveside. There were very many wreaths, amongst them f>eiiig those sent by the taxi drivers of the Grand, Liberty, Post Office and Cashel Street stands, motor engineers, and Anderson’s, Ltd., besides tho.se of the relatives and friends in the bays, Christchurch, and other parts. The pallbearers were Mr D. M’Lean (brother-in-law), Mr W. Thompson (cousin), Mr P. Henderson (cousin) and Mr R. Anderson. The chief mourners were Mr G- A. Oakley and children and other relaitvcs at tho bays. The cortege was a largo one and included residents from Purevi, Diamond. Harbour and Char ten's Bay. The Disputes Committee met yesterday morning at Lyttelton in connection with the refusal of the waterside workers to work overtime on the Doonholin. After a lengthy discussion the meeting was adjourned until tho afternoon, the meeting being unable to come to n satisfactory understanding. In the afternoon a repersentative of the employers was present, and the Doonholm matter and others were discussed, but no further understanding was come to in respect to the working of overtime on the Doonholm. The matter will remain in abeyance in the meanwhile. Cases set down for hearing at the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court included those in which the Christchurch ‘•Press” Oompnnv, Ltd. (Mr Alpers), was proceeded against by certain of its employees for wages due for working on Anniversary Dav, at the rate of time and a half, alleged to be in accordance with the terms of an award. The claimants were W. F. P- Homer £1 10s 21 d, L P Taylor £1 9s 3d. J. Henderson £1 7s lOd. H. L. Ives £1 & 9 fld. R. J. Floret £1 7s 10d. J. Mitchell £1 7s I Or!, J. Gilmour £1 8s 6d, A. Poison £1 7s 10d. W. Ij. Power £1 7s 70d D. Short 12s 4*d and A. Basher 9s Bd. The last two named are apprentices Mr Hunter appeared for the plaintiffs. Owing to I the congestion of business the hearing was adjourned to May 20
