N.Z. ASSOCIATION. MELTING OF THE EXECUTIVE The executive ox the New Zealand Hockey Association met last evening; present— Messrs li. S. J. Goodman (chairman), G. SSt rack, S. G. Holland, it. V. Grainger, G. S. Cowper, H. W. Rogers and J. Burgess (secretary). Tbe meeting .was called to deal with the recommendations forwarded from the annual meeting regarding the limiting of matches to oe played for the challenge shield and Nordon Cup. r It was decided that the number of challenge matches' to he played by a,ny ono defender of the shield shall be limited to four anti in the case of the Nordon Cup five. the. holder in each case to have, the right to apply for further matches if so desired. The following associations were considered ineligible to challenge, for the Nordon Cup. and may challenge tor the shield only:—■ Canterbury. Wellington. Otago, Auckland, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay. Waikato and Mar,*watu. All other associati-ns are eligible to challenge for the Nordon Cup. and they may also rha-Uongo for the shield. C ANTERBUKY ASS OCT ATJ ON. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Tiociccy Associatiou met labt evening; present—Mesars W. Simpson (chairman), G. W. Ford, C. Blackwell, F. Crawford. Ti. Throp, H. War burton, W. Franklin, C. Bishop, J. Lo Mottee, L. Smith, \>. \> ii liamson and I*. A: Quartermaiu (secretary). Mr Noble, orgaruiscr oi tbe primary schools competition, also attended. The Grounds Committee reported that the grounds at Haglcy Pajk were being roiled, and when completed would be in first-class order, it was urged that clubs should 'erect their own nets and posts for their matches. The Permit Committee recommended that tiio Technical College A team be regarded as a senior team. The recommendation was adopted, tbo change to come into effect at the end of the first round. It was decided to commence a- fresh competition in tbe senior grade at the close of the first round, and to ploy a final match between the. winners of the two separate Mr Noble reported that there were four school teams at the • Sydenham School, and the matter would be pushed ahead when the school Teopened. It was decided to hold the fivc-a-sidc tournament on the Saturday alter the eiul of tbs first round oi tbe senior competition, and *o close entries for the tournament on the. Monday after the first round. Mr L. Smith was appointed as supervisor for the tournament. Messrs Simpson, Crawford, Thrap and Whyte were appointed a subcommittee to secure referees for the tournaIn regard to an objection by the. captain of the Christchurch third grade team to the Sydenham team completing its personnel after half-time, it was decided that the match should he replayed at a later date.
