EMPTY COTTON REELS.
© Keep a special box for your empty cotton reels, for they will all have a use. A smallish reel makes a splendid peg for hanging purposes. All that is needed is to pass a long French nail through tho reel and hammer it into the wall. Covered with a. tiny piece of material a large reel, hammered into position with a brass-headed nail, makes a good door stop, and one enamelled to match the woodwork of a cupboard door and screwed on will answer the purpose of a lost knob. Four good-sized reds painted and nailed to the legs of a little table will often bring it to a more convenient height, and a number of reels strung through a stout cord will keep hanging bookshelves far more steady than if kept in place by knotted cord alone.
