THE EARWIGS.
Sir.—Noticing in the “Star” references to earwigs 1 should like to give your reader l ! ray methods of dealing with the 7>e«t. In the fork of each tree I place a folded sack or piece of some material : a sugar hag will do. It very morning T call some chickens that are running loose and remove the sacking: then nreakfast starts. Now it. is only necessary to call once, and the chickens follow me the round of the orchard. Failing poultry, a kettle of boiling water is effective.—T am, etc.. R. LOCKWOOD. Sydenham. March 1.
