TEACHERS IN TRAINING.

PHYSICAL EXERCISES AT LANCASTER PARK. A week’s physical training at Lancaster Park was commenced to-day by 155 students of the Normal Training College, of whom 35 are men and 120 women. Their physical training consists of the exercises set out for schools in the new drill book, based on Swedish drill. It is the drill that the teachers will be called upon to teach in the schools, and their week at Lancaster Park will not only give them a knowledge of the drill, but also benefit them physically for the year's work that lies before them. All of the students will be in training at the same time- Their hours will be from 9 a.m. till noon, and from 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. They are not in camp at Lancaster Park, but living at their own homes. The Department’s instructors are Misses Greenwood and GoreMartin and Mr Webb.
