EMBEZZLEMENT CHARGE.

[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 23. Joseph Henry Pike, who was arrested just before the departure of the Sydney boat, pleaded guilty to embezzling £423 from his employers, Ferguson and Osborne. It was stated by tho police that gambling caused his downfall. Prisoner was committed for sentence.
