PLAGUE OF EARWIGS.
TO THE EDTTOK Sir, —T was interested in an inqniry T>v a correspondent regarding the plague of earwigs which afflicts certain parts of Christchurch. Ho asks for a remedy and T will help him wTBi a suggestion. The best thing, to do is to gather up nnd burn all rubbish and loose paper that mav be lying about, as thee© things furnish the pest with shelter. Sprav the place fairly liberally with kerosene, which is rank poison to tho earwig family. It is also advisable to turn fowls (if you have any) loose* and let them scrape round for a while. They get rid of a tremendous nninber of hugs and lice, and can soon he taught to leave, vegetables alone.—l am. etc., AMATEUR GARDENER.
