SERVE ALL ALIKE.
TO THB XDITOR. Sir.—Some time ago T goT a letter from the New Brighton Council demanding that I should, within seven days, cut down the lupins on my section. because of the danger of fire. Well. T didn’t kick : T did the .iob. I was told that notices had been served on nil owners of untidy and overgrown sections; bnt the other day T was in Brighton, and T noticed that there were other sections close to mine which had not. been touched. A neighbour to whom T spoke about jt told me that ib was the same old thing—there were a few people who either didn’t care or who defied the council, or were too tight to spend the money, and so each rear they got out of it. Now, «r, I reckon if the New Brighton Council has got the spunk to send out these notices then it onght to see that its demands are carried out,. Some of these tight owners should be mad© an example of. T don’t mind doing my hit, but T do object when other people don’t dd theirs.—l am. etc., RATEPAYER.
