FATAL FIRE

THREE CHILDREN BURNED TO DEATH,

A PITIFUL TRAGEDY.

ROTORUA, January 21. A fatal fire occurred last night. A house of four rooms was destroyed, and three children, aged respectively ten, eight and six years, lost their livesThe children’s father, TJita Makaia, is dead, aDd the mother had married again. A sister, aged twenty, was in charge, and she left tho children in bed and went to tho pictures. Nobody seemed to know that the children were inside tho house. One body was found under the bed. The origin of the fire is a mystery. There was no insurance on the building.
