STRIKE-BREAKING CREW EMPLOYED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Gopjrlghi Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.' SYDNEY, December 20. The stewards’ strike is becoming wore serious. The owners are employing a, strike-breaking crew on the. steamer Mareila, and it is now expected that the strike will spread to the wharf labourers. The strike has also spread to interstate cargo carriers. The stewardson two vessels at Newcastle are giving notice. 'The Union Company is racing against time with the JMoeraki, which is due to-night. If the vessel arrives in time 1 there is a- good chance of dispatching her to Tasmania, before the stewards’; notice, expires. (A cable message received early_ this, morning states that the Moarajji arrived at Sydney at nine o’clock lastnight).
