DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £13,000. KLU ~ ' TPer Press Association.) TAUMABUNUI. October 81, Early on Saturday morning a serious accident occurred at Ellis and Burnahd’s mill, Manunui. Tho big flywheel of an engine broke and was stripped to tho hub. Fragments were thrown iu all directions ana everything in the line of the engine was razed to tho ground. The smoko stack nearest tho engine was struck and telescoped, olid another largo twin cylinder en, ( gino was damaged. A piece of the flywheel travelled two hundred yards, cut its way through a stack of timber and completely buried itself in the ground. Fortunately no one was injured. Tho accident will bo disastrous to tho Company and the employees. The engine will bo very difficult to replace and it is feared that men will be thrown out of work for some considerable time unless the main engine can be run on ono cylinder. The damage is ostimated s£. £13,000.
