“THE GREAT GAME.”
Sports of all kinds will bo well entered for during Carnival Week at Crystal Palace, when the English, produced film, entitled " The Great Game,” will be presented. The picture is typical of one of Nat Gould’s famous novels, and has all the humour, dramatic effects and love with plenty of thrill?, which aro essential in a sporting picture. The story deals with racehorses, boxetg, actors, trainers, owners, jockeys, villains, intermingled with a basic drama of human omotiors. England’s gentleman boxer, the idol of London's fair sex, plays tho leading role, which gives him many opportunities to‘display his magnificent physical qualifications. The picture was recently screened for the first time in Auckland, and record croivds attended all sessions at the Princess Theatre. The racing scenes are particularly interesting, the English Derby and the 2000 Ghineas feeing prominent features of the picture. The management claims that “ Tlio Great Game” is the most convincing sporting picture that has ever come to tne Dominion and the Auckland papers confirm tins opinion.
