METHODIST CHURCH.
RANGIORA CIRCUIT. The quarterly meeting of the Rangiora Methodist Circuit was hold at Woodcad on Thursday evening. The Rev J. Guy presided. Tho Rov C. B. Jordan was also present, and there was a good attendance of officials. Tho report and balance-sheet as presented by thu stewards was deemed to bo very satisfactorv. The different organisations in connection with tho church wero in a very healthy condition. Tho Sunday schools especiallyshowed a marked increase in the attendance. A voto of thanks was accorded to Miss Gni-' ham for , her wort as mission collector. E was resolved that it should bo a recommendation to Conference that money collected for homo missions should only bo used for the. furtherance of the work in tho baokblorks, and should not bo used for salaries. The Rev J. Guy referred to tho diamond jubilee of Mr A. Catchpole, who for sixty years had eorvod tho Methodist Church as a local preacher, and it was decided to placo on record that tho thanks of the quarterly mooting wero tendered to Mr Catchpole for his long and faithful cervices. As tho Rov J. Guy has decided to retire at the end of the year, ho would not accept an invitation to remain for another year, and ft waa resolved to placo on record the faithful service* rendcred by him during his term of office as superintendent. It was resolved ‘to invite tha A. N. Scotter, of Waimate, as senior minister in tho circuit. After refreshments had been served by the lady friends, for which they were accorded a veto of thanks, the meeting closed.
