A NOVEL ENTERTAINMENT.
The W.E.A. has been responsible for many educational innovations during its brief existence in Christchurch, but its latest enterprise, in securing the services of the gifted Australian vocalist, violinist and lecturer, Mr Gibson Young, looks to be one of its most successful efforts. _ Mr Gibson Young, who is at present judging at the Dunedin competitions, has placed) his services at the disposal of the organisation on Thursday evening next, when ho will give a lecture-recital, dealing with tho building up and, the evolution of songs throughout the ages. Mr Young is accompanied by his talented wife, and with tho assistance of Miss Lillian Harper, the well-known local pianiste, a programme that is both educational and highly entertaining will bo presented. The box plan is at Tho Bristol, where seats may be reserved for 2s 6d. As the lecturerecital is purely to stimulate interest in music, and not for profit, very small charges are being made for admission.
