The leader of the Liberal Party announced to-day that Mr Frederick Lysliar,- chairman of the u.isbome .uarbo\n Board, and ex-diainnan of the Cook County .Council, and a strong supporter of Sir James Carroll and l the late Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald throughout the whole of their political careers, had been selected as the- Literal candidate for tho Bay of Plenty byelection. Mr Lysnar is a brother ol the member for Gisborne.
