THE WOOLSTON FIRE.
The recent clisoussion in our daily papers in reference to the Woolston fellmongery (ire has created much comment and criticism upon the new plant lately purchased by the Woolston Fire Board. This is the first occasion of fire since the installation of the plant, and reports from the Brigade and others on tho sceno of tho fire aro very satisfactory. The pumps withstood' a very strenuous test-7-tho actual time of pumping "being approximately fourteen hours, thereby preventing the lire from spreading and causing more damage. The durability of this plant is accounted for by the attention given to detail in its construction. The manufacturers, Messrs Toomey and Goodmap, with their competent dtaff, spared no efforts to bring it to its present success. Being the makers of practically every class of pump, patrons are assured of good results. We also solicit a trial for general engineers'and plumbers'wrass work, motorcar, side and wind screen!*, etc. Castings'in any of tho following metals:— Brass, gunmetal, phos. bronze, etc. Rinr up and ask for Quotations.
