OBITUARY.

MR GEORGE ANDREWS. Mr George Andrews, an ex-member of the Christchurch City Council, died this morning at his residence in Slater Street. Air Andrews was born at Fownhopo, Herefordshire, on March 0, 1852. Ho arrived in the Dominion by the Geraldine Paget in 187-1, having missed his passage in the ill-fated ship Cospatrick. • which was burned at sea. Mr Andrews was well known in commercial circles, having been in business in this city for the past thirty-two years. He took a keen interest in local affairs, and was a member of the City Council for some years. Ho was elected unopposed for the South-west Ward in August, 1895. Air Andrews leaves a widow, three sous and six 'daughters.
