DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. [Phh Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 23. A.private deputat.on interviewed tho Prune Minister recsutlj on racing matters, Sir G, Clifford bcinft the spokesman. As a result’ it is stated that the Premier assured the deputation that the income tax on clubs would not be made retrospective. Reference was made to the collection of both 2J per cent on tota.isator receipts and income tax but Mr Massey could not promise a revision as all the finance possible was required’ When the new land and income lax measure was brought down there would be a readjustment, and the point might then be considered. Tho Premier wris also asked to give assistance in the suppression of the undesirable element, clubs’ detectives not being able to cope with it, and he promised to consult the Minister for Police on the subject,
