Mr W. Jackman, who was manager of Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs's London house for, three years and a half, has returned to Christchurch, to rdsiime ins position as secretary to the company. The position of manager :n London has been resumed by Mr E. IMiitcombe, Vho served in the war and was wounded.

Wo have infinitely better sport in the South Island than they have in the North, and it would bo nnlv fair that he should have a day or two’s sport here.”
