The Berlin correspondent of tho “Daily Telegraph” says:—“lt was a case of sauve qui pent during tho terrible scene. A struggling crowd was (lammed op against the Brandenburg gale, and lor some minutes tho openings were too small to allow the mav, to pass rapidly through.” Tho correspondent is convinced that tho demonstrations wero not prepared in order to do violence. He corvid only conjecture that foreign political desperadoes mixed with the crowd, and turned a peaceable 'demonstration into .a grim and ominous tragedy, (On Monday last an attack was made on the Reichstag, a crowd rushing and disarming the police. Reinforcements held the crowd back for some time, hut tho attacks were persisted in till tho police were compelled to throw bombs.
