The New Zealand Institute of Architects to-day resolved to express dissatisfaction wjth the proposed non- •nwthod of appointing technical school hoards and to interview the Director of Technical Education with a view to arranging for better representation on the boards of the various trades and professions taught in the schools. Regarding the housing .scheme, the Institute decided to endeavour to have the architectural and layout work 'lone under the direction of registered architects, in conjunction with the engineering staff of the. local body concerned. The Institute resolved that the promotion of competitions for architectural work should he discouraged, except for work of groat public or national importance,
