CURIOUS MATRIMONY.
There have been many weird weddings. tor example, a honeymoon down a coal-pit sounds a hit, weird and dark, but in regard to one wedding ceremony on record this unusual occurrence happened. The bridegroom was a coal-pit. manager, and his new wife had never been down a. pit. At her own request they went from tho church, donned suitable attire, stepped into the cage, ami were taken to tne ontUnn of the shaft., where I hey had a rousing reception from miners armed with pick and shovel. Another matrimonial alliance of a curious character was the one m which there was a. 1.'),U00-mile honeymoon. ’[ho story runs that before the war, a. couple, both hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, came to a little illnge in Cumberland. to bo married. Then, again, the case of tho young professor of physical culture who married a beautiful and athletic pnpil of his in the suburbs of Paris. Tho couple appeared before the Mayor in tennis costume, and after tho ceremony tho wedding party sat down to breakfast on tho banks of tho Seine. Hardly was the coffee finished than, on a given signal, the whole party retired, and reappeared in bathing costume. Later the couple started for a honeymoon tour on a hicveUi.
